Experience in Chattanooga, United States by Evan
What is it like to live in Chattanooga? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Very outdoor oriented city. Lots of hiking, climbing, kayaking, swimming. Beautiful landscape.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chattanooga?
Once again, big outdoor scene. Plenty to do on the outskirts of town. Bars, music, etc. also frequented by students.
How much does it cost to live in Chattanooga?
Not too much as compared to other cities I've been to in the states.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chattanooga? Is there any advice you can give?
More expensive within the city, plenty of accommodation on the outskirts of town. Public transportation from rural areas to city center is not so great though.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Great! Lots of good pub food, southern cooking, and a variety of ethnic foods.
What places would you recommend visiting in Chattanooga?
The aquarium, riverwalk and riverfront, hiking trails all over (specifically in the mountains)
Is it good to eat out in Chattanooga? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Of course! My favorite is Hair of the Dog Pub, Mojo Burrito, and Lupi's Pizza. Good local eats.
Is the nightlife good in Chattanooga? Where is good to go?
More or less. We don't have a whole lot of bars and none of them are open past 3 AM, but I would recommend Chattanooga Billiards Club, Honest Pint, and Hair of the Dog.
What advice would you give future students heading to Chattanooga?
Get outside!
