Experience in Chambery, France by Ilaria
What is it like to live in Chambéry? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is full of life especially during the morning, but Sunday looks like a zombie land.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chambéry?
You get up really early, go to university and attend courses with few people (only some courses have more than 30 students). You go back home in the afternoon and you have to study and do homework for the day after, but the content of each subject is really simple.
How much does it cost to live in Chambéry?
Chambéry is neither cheap or expensive. For sure, nightlife can be really expensive if you like to go out every day and you're not a girl.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chambéry? Is there any advice you can give?
It's really easy because there are a lot of students accomodations at a competitive price.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is mainly cheese and meat like salami, but you can find a lot of halal places, too. My favorite dish is "raclette".
What places would you recommend visiting in Chambéry?
The house of Rousseau: a little bit far from the centre but it's worth it.
Is it good to eat out in Chambéry? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
As I like happy hours I suggest the pub Mojito.
Is the nightlife good in Chambéry? Where is good to go?
Nightlife in Chambéry is perfect: there's a lot of fun, you meet a lot of people and every night there's a different theme. Morover you can organise your own parties with the owners of some clubs.
