Dormitories

Residences in Ceske Budejovice

In Ceske Budejovice there are two universities where are the Erasmus, they are South Bohemia and VSTE (Vysoká škola technická to ekonomická). The buildings, life in each is very different.

South Bohemia

I love this university. It is the university where you want to go when you go on Erasmus. I didn’t know how the classes are because I study in the VSTE but there are many more people in classrooms. It have courts for sports like football, basketball... and the distance for to the room is 1 minute I envy this a lot because my residence doesn’t have sports court like these. The dormitory has very good communication with the city center (buses every 5 min) so much flexibility to go downtown and have buses at night and after the party. On campus there are 5 dormitories buildings (K1, K2, K3, K4 and K5), the first four are next however K5 is farthest. K1, K2, K3, K5 is where the Spanish have been assigned. The rooms are small and have shared bathroom floor. There are many people living in these homes because Czechs and Erasmus students, the truth is that buildings are great. The wifi is wired but people create wifi networks with a program for PC. The K4 is the best residence in Ceske. It has large rooms more typical of a flat than a residence. The best of the residence is it is well connected and sport.

VSTE

At first after seeing the campus of South Bohemia, when comparing to the VSTE, you wonder where you have beenJ. But along the course I have discovered many things in VSTE that makes me like enough. Here the buses run every half hour or an hour or sometimes even more so you have to be looking at the schedule and know when buses pass, in the weekend change the times so can take up to two hours until the next bus pass. In sports courts there is only a small football pitch. The rooms are nice; they are big and with new furniture. We have shared ground of two rooms to share bathrooms and shower. The internet is WIFI and the network is open for anyone to be connected making sometimes go very slow. We have a kitchen for the whole residence but will be like 30 people, and often crowded. The good thing about this residence and so I appreciate it is for life here, there are few people but the vast majority are Erasmus and lots of variety of countries. Family life here is because we went class together, went out partying together and traveled together. There are people in the kitchen and you have to wait for cook, anyway, you can put to talk to them because you have relationship and sometimes cook dishes from our country to the other. The best of the residence is make easily meeting people from different cultures.
