Praia da Rainha

Didi you know that Cascais is the city where the portuguese royal used to go for summer vacations? Indeed it is a place for princesses. Specially if you in Praia da Rainha (or Queen's beach, in english).

With really clean and blue water, the sea in Cascais may be cold but it's really beautiful. Surrounded by houses that look like little castles and cute stores, the beaches are a lovely place to enjoy summer. And with the hot sun you wont even feel cold in the water. 

Location

Praia da Rainha is really close to the city center, but it's not the main beach - which makes it even better. It has a calm sea with stunning view to rocks - you can even find a litttle beach between them. 

During the summer it can be really crowded. I reccomend you to go in september, when there are less people and it is still hot in Portugal. 

If you're staying in Lisbon, it is really easy to go to Cascais. Just take a train in Cais do Sodré station (costs about 2 euros) and you'll be there in an hour. Once in the city, you can do anything walking!
