Scary name, beautiful place
Although this place's name can be quite scary (it means Hell's Mouth in English) there is nothing to be frightned about Boca do Inferno. It is actually a very beautiful and inspiring place.
It is a cliff where you can see the horizon, the Atlantic ocean, the seaside, boats and seagulls. Really beautiful
The spooky name is explained by the strong sound that the water does when the waves hit the stones.
Location
Boca do Inferno
is located in Cascais, a small beach city near Lisbon where the portuguese royal family used to go on vacations. You'll find many rich houses and small castles there.
To get to Cascais you can get a train at Cais do Sodré station in Lisbon. It will cost around 2 euros and it will take one hour travel. There are trains leaving every half an hour.
Once in the center of Cascais, you can get to Boca do Inferno by a 2 km hike, or by bike, or by taxi. But it's a really nice walk where you can see many cool houses, and it doesn't take that long.
From the cliff, you can walk all the shore exploring the beaches, such as Praia da Rainha, on the way back to the center of the city.
