From Cannes to Saint Tropez
Our adventure in the french Cote d'Azur is still hiding many surprises, as many wonderful and beautiful cities around offer so much amazing landscapes to discover, especially that we found ourselves with enough money and time to discover another city not very far from Cannes.
Our idea was therefore to go to Saint Tropez from Cannes, a city so famous for its beautiful beaches and historical heritage and so much amazing things to discover, for this trip we used just took a bus from the station Mougins and very cheap as it costed only 8 euros to arrive in the Sainte Maxime station, the distance was so close and we could discover the landscpaes of that amazing road trip while sitting in very comfortable way in the bus.
We arrived finally to Saint-Tropez that no longer needs to present it as it is very famous and Touristic city located in the south of France, near Nice and Marseille, it had known a crazy success within the previous years with the famous movie stars and jet set of the whole world especially the hollywood actors and actresses that goes to the city for their holidays such as the famous football player Cristiano Ronaldo. We of course planned from first visit this city and had great time enjoying its beaches and its amazing landscapes, and we could book in advance our small square in a very comfortable and amazing hostel inside the city.
The city of Saint-Tropez has a lot to offer to all tourists who dream to visit it and there are countless activities to do in Saint-Tropez, it is also known for me from the funniest french movies that presented it as the most amazing in term of landscape and comfort. Located in a coastal area in the east of France, Saint-Tropez is a wonderful city and a regular destination for thousands of French and foreign tourists who seek sun and beach during the summer months, the water is very warm, the sun is making the atmosphere so great, representations of the french army also make amazing living spectacles in the streets of the city.
We discovered that the city is very interested about art and culture which is and have historical complex, museums and art centers located inside the downtown of Saint-Tropez and that can be visited on foot, the city is not very big and caxplained by the number of buildings that can be explored such as museums and art centers without a car if poeple want to discover the charm of it and have a little time of joy and excitement. In the center of town, things to do in Saint-Tropez are organized around inl original and amazing streets. There are also many cultural properties that can be discovered.
The city of Saint-Tropez also represents the sun, the beaches, the sea, the night clubs and mutilple discotheques and in another hand this city has great surprises for all lovers of art and history, there are really beautiful and cool places to discover especially monuments and museums.
1- Citadel Museum
In the morning we thought to visit firstly the Citadel museum as it is very famous in the city, The Citadel of Saint-Tropez is famous throughout the south of France and it represents a part of the history of the city and tells a lot about a time when prince and princess were ruling, it is possible to visit it and to discover which has just been renovated. poeple can also enjoy the museums meant to describe the maritime part of Saint Tropez. The visit costs around two euros only and it is possible to book for a guided tour with english language ; The old city Saint-Tropez is another emblematic part we could discover where everything is sustained with the old port, where poeple can still see beautiful boats and walk along the quays in very joyful atmosphere and happy life. poeple will see the painters that are making the poeple more surprised and delighted by their own masterpieces but also visit the multiple cafes and restaurants surrounding the city offering a way of living so much relaxing and we could distinguish that most of the poeple outside were living a happy life full of good and memorable moments. Then a short tour through the old town will lead you into its narrow streets, but also the fish market where a wonderful sight awaits poeple to see the enriched characteristics such as the vegetables, the fruits the fruits of the sea. Among the places to visit in Saint-Tropez, In addition, among the most visited places to visit, there is the port of Saint-Tropez where it is easy to find famous people who spend the summer in this French city.
2- The beach
Very touristy and internationally known, the Saint Tropez beach have the reputation of being the beach of famous movie stars, it has become the unmissable meeting place for jet-set and people from all over the world that are most of the times took in pictures and put in magazines. In my personal point of view, we can find places that are nowadays mythical in Saint Tropez for the intimate part very far from the lights and the cameras thats why most ptobably famous poeple choose it as a destination for their holidays and a hiddden place, a seaside resort on the Côte d'Azur where the most famous celebrities and locals mix. Despite all of this, Saint Tropez remains a pretty little town with flowery streets, a small bay, great smells and singing restaurants. I could enjoy the coffee terraces, where the delicious cakes are the most known, the play of the french balls and yachts are an integral part of the decor of this embelamatic city. In summer, Saint Tropez is also crowded with people, the night life is very dynamic, the beaches are the most crowded with poeple and the hotels became very expensive. I think that It is better therefore to go in the spring especially to enjoy more the good side of the city and be able to take a walk on the wide streets to search for the market opened on Tuesday and Saturday morning mainly, on the place of we can discover vegetables, the fish market and on the flowers everywhere.
3- Cathedral Notre Dame OF THE ASSOMPTION
From the port we went to discover another part of the city that has the form of a labyrinthine streets inside downtown of Saint-Tropez, the perspectives are beautiful, calm and freshness inspire. From there we find ourselves already arriving in front of the Notre-Dame-de l'Assomption church whose yellow bell tower has become the symbol of the city well before actors and movie stars. It is actually a respectful church that was conserved from the previous decades, the facades were then covered with white stone and the interior decorated also in great architecture. we did eventually a small tour inside the church and we could admire and enjoy the originality of Saint Tropez and images to which the poeple worship in this town. and respect a lot these religious points that remains conserved for years and years telling the sotries of the town history.
4- The city districts
we went like for more than ten kilometres from Saint-Tropez and we tought ourselves lost already while we reached the town of Ramatuelle. Just inside the Saint-Tropez madness, Ramatuelle has one of the most beautiful shores of the Côte d'Azur. I think that it is characterised by the most amazing beachs located in this emblematic town famous for this nature, characterised by fine white sand without any construction on the horizon. so we took great and wonderful time to bath inside the beach and the enjoy these amazing natural landscapes. The city seemed to me to also offers a heritage characterising rich history. The village offers a visit to the church, which, by the old architecture, has a magnificent architectural portal. It is necessary to pass under the old part to discover through the alleys a village entirely organized around as a castle. After discovering the architectural part of the old town, we saw as well the old prison that had a very original style. Once we got outside of old the part we discovered also a cemetery of another chapel where rests a very moving tomb where many poeple rest in peace we also discovered from conversations with the main locals that the city had actually a specific festival where people go out in the streets and do original sweets this spectacle was created as the Ramatuelle unique Festival, which allows poeple to attend during the summer period to different plays and artistic performances; a festival that today has an International fame.
5- Ferry trip
Another amazing way to spend a day in Saint-Tropez in a very relaxing and joyful atmosphere is starting our visit with a boat trip from Cannes. In fact we thought of this cruise because we all share the same point of view concerning the beautiful sea colour that give to us the peace of mind and that's why we could enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the famous coastal part of the Côte d'Azur on the occasion of a very original and wonderful cruise along the coast. We could Spend the day as we wished in Saint-Tropez, a destination known for its famous visitors, small but so much warm village, multiple shops, cafes and luxury yachts, by which it managed to retain a certain authenticity.
poeple have also multiple options and a certain flexibility of adapting the itinerary to their preferences and the time spent outside, all of this of course adjusted by the amount of money needed for each trip made. On the board a boat from Cannes to the village of Saint-Tropez, a fabulous destination if poeple want to see even more of the Côte d'Azur. During this relaxing boat ride, I think we really enjoyed breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coast from the sea. The ferry trip from Cannes takes about one hour and fifteen minutes, then poeple can either relax in their hotels or exploit the rest of the day to explore Saint-Tropez. The sunny coastal town of Saint-Tropez became a seaside resort appreciated after previous years of destruction with the arrival of artists from the cultural movements of the New Wave and the years of light. Saint-Tropez then attracted the European and American jet set, attracted to the city for its seaside setting, its shiny dresses and its very cool atmosphere.
We Spent the day discovering the varied treasures of Saint-Tropez and the leisure activities the twon offers. Whether visiting, or relaxing on the beach, the city has a lot to offer to poeple that visit it, discover the old traditions and the amazing yachts that line the water. After that astonishing discovery we could then Stroll through the city center and explore the chic fashion boutiques to buy some trendy and fashionable clothes, or browse the charming markets. finally, we left the seaside costal part of the port and discovered the fishing district . Follow the narrow streets and capture the landscape by multiple and memorable photos. Discover the citadel of Saint-Tropez dating back to the previous century, for a beautiful view of the city. Art lovers can visit the museum and discover works quite famous in this city, Back near the port, we could as well enjoy a delicious meal composed of grilled fishes sea and cold jus, we could also enjoy in the restaurant a view of the sun on a white sand beach.
At the end of the day we could reach our hotel with the heart happy and the spirit relaxed.
