During the summer of 2007, I spent a month in Cambridge, running a course of three weeks in the EC Cambridge Schools in order to improve my English level. The moment I arrived the city, I just knew that I was in a place like nowhere else I've been before.
Firstly, the architectural beauty of the buildings was quite impressive, it was like being in the XV century or so. Even Mc Donald's looked like the other buildings of the city! You have many places to visit, cathedrals, abbeys, churchs, beautiful gardens, etc. The downtown is located at the inner part of the river Cam, and you can go pounting there, which is very funny, 'cause you can see many Chinese people (no offense :D) falling into the water.
Secondly, people in Cambridge are really friendly, they help you if you get lost in the city or whatever happens to you. As a piece of advice, I recommend you to hire a bicycle, because there are no slops and you can go easily from one place to another in the city. Nevertheless, for a Spaniard like me, during the night is not so fun, because in Spain we are used to go out all night long, whereas in the UK people usually go back home at 2:30 am or 3:00 am.
In conclusion, I would recommend anyone visit Cambridge, because you will experience a great time in a beautiful city doing things that you are not used to do in yours, such going pounting, play rugby, football, or cricket, or just lying on the grass at Parker's Piece!
