Experience in University of Cambridge, United Kingdom by Jessica
Generally, what is University of Cambridge like?
It is a very fun and interesting place to be. The workload is intense, and at times stressful, but there is still plenty of time for socialising and extracurricular activities.
What are the facilities like?
It depends where you are, but the facilities are generally good - there are sports grounds, music rooms, theatres etc. for the use of all students.
What are the tutors like?
The tutors are great - very helpful and approachable. They are usually the world expert in their field of research, which can be daunting at first but you soon learn to enjoy it and make the most of it.
Are the lessons easy in University of Cambridge?
In short, no. But everyone is in the same boat. As long as you prepare well for the lessons and don't let the pressure of supervision get to you, you will be fine.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
There are about a thousand different student societies you can join, from sport to music to art to tea-drinking and Lord of the Rings appreciation societies. They are all really fun and a great way to meet people! Bear in mind that you might have to pay membership fees, but these are usually not expensive.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Yes - we are number 1 in the UK for a reason ;)
Are there any stories you can share?
So many, I can't choose! I will just say that May Week is the most fun and crazy fortnight ever...and leave it at that.
