Last Night out in Cádiz for 2012

With some of us leaving Cádiz on 6th December we decided to have one last big night out of 2012 so when M2 started advertising a neon night we decided that would be it. Everyone had resolved to dress up, even if we were the only ones in the club who would do so. We spent the day trawling Cádiz for neon things to wear, the best place for neon accessories was easily Claires, where we all bought braces and leg warmers, as well as neon and glitter hair spray. We then found some neon face paint in a fancy dress shop just up the road, so we were all set. We met at Anissa’s flat that evening to all get ready together and pre-drink, as well as a last big night out this evening served to raise everyone’s spirits a bit as some of us had been on a bit of a downer getting this close to Christmas.

Anissas lounge was quickly covered in glitter and paint as we all got ready and steadily more drunk, the S Club 7 was blasting out and after a quick catwalk we were ready to head out. As predicted no one else had gone quite as all out for neon night as we had, but there were free glowsticks which we took advantage of, and that is about where my memory of the night ends. The next day I woke up with a green pillowcase from the hair spray, my phone in pieces in my bag and the paint still on my face, refusing to budge. But everyone had a great night and it was definitely a good one to have left Cádiz on, even if no one else took the fancy dress quite so seriously, I look forward to the next themed night! I would definitely encourage people to dress up and make a big thing out of a night out once in a while rather than go out all the time, much more enjoyable because the scene in Cádiz is so small that it can get a bit samey.
