What is it like to live in Budapest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's a wonderful city. Lots of sights, lots of restaurants, cafes, clubs, parks. It's a wonder just to walk around the city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

You generally live really close to the university, the teachers are quite helpful and speak acceptable english. Be prepared for studying a lot.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

Budapest is a really cheap city when compared to any of the western countries. Rent is around 300-500 euros/month for a huge room. You will spend at most 200-300 euros with food, transportation, partying, well.. everything else.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Budapest? Is there any advice you can give?

Not difficult at all. My only advice is to have a contract exacly for the period you're staying. Finding someone to take your place can be a headache. Also, be sure to ask for your deposit way before leaving the city. You don't want to leave 2-3 rents back, do you?

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is great! They have all kinds of restaurants in the city. I personally like the fact that they eat a lot of potato. The goulash is amazing.

What places would you recommend visiting in Budapest?

The hardest question, isn't it?
All the famous tour sights (all included in those free tours), the gellert hill (sunset is just incredible there), etc. You just have to visit the Szimpla pub and the Instant club. In my opinion, those are the best places to party in town.

Is it good to eat out in Budapest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Can't really name my favorite places but you'll find plenty of options in the city, rest assured.

Is the nightlife good in Budapest? Where is good to go?

As mentioned, Szimpla and Instant are a must.
On Mondays, don't miss Morrison's 2.
A42 is also a great call.

What advice would you give future students heading to Budapest?

Don't worry much. The city is easy to live in, everything will end up working out.
Just have the time of your life, like I did.
