What is it like to live in Budapest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I would totally recommend it. Budaspest has a really mixed and unique atmosphere. Design, art, architecture and gastronomy. The steet food wave provides a realyl wide range of gastronomical experience opportunities. The industrial design and the fine art museums, shows you the area's best contemporary works. The city is beautyful, the people are friendly. More yhaotic than a skandinavian or a western culture, but clearer than a mediterran one. Sit on the side of the river Danube and have a fröccs, the soda-wine mix which is the hungarian drink speciality.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

I can speak about the art university. Everyone is late, the administration is a bit hard, but super personal and free. Go in the school, ha ve a rest in the grass after the lessons, stay in the workshop until evening, work at the night, or go to an alternative party. Live in an old citycenter rented room.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

Starts from 300 Euro, if you are lucky.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Budapest? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes, its super hard. Look up the erasmus students, who are there in time, and ask them for their rented room. Ask a lots of people. Be presistent.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Supergood. Sousages with brad and mustard.

What places would you recommend visiting in Budapest?

Szent Péter Bazilika.

Is it good to eat out in Budapest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes it is good, but more expensive than cook of course.

Is the nightlife good in Budapest? Where is good to go?

Yes it is! Its worth it to go to Deák tér. The Király utca is full of really nice bars. I love them. You are from any layer, you will find a pleasefull place. I recommend Kék Ló, Lámpás, but they are always changing, so just start and search!

What advice would you give future students heading to Budapest?

Dont expect, that in the school they will like to speak in English. Hungarian people are not good in English, and hungarian language is not easy. You have to seek the people who are opened for international students, and spend time with them. In the school be decided, and force students to speak in English, show your qualities, show that you want to understand them, the students and the teachers. You are accepted to the school, it has to provide you the possibility to speak in English. Good luck!
