What is it like to live in Budapest? Would you recommend it to others? What is the city like?
It is the capital of Hungary. Our architects studied in Austria, but employed and realised their know how in our metropolis, and due to that reason our buildings are nicer and bigger than those found for example in Vienna.
The city consists of Pest, Buda and Óbud (Altofen in german and Old Buda in the Hungarian to English translation). A union of the three took place in 1853. I like the centre. There you can find anything just like for example in Berlin. Modern. The young people speak mostly English while the older persons speak German.
What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?
Great, they have it much too easy, they order Pizza and Cola to be brought to their accommodation via a home delivery option. They have money and time, and ambush their parents house (or rather have a fallback option in the form of their parents house).
How much does it cost to live in Budapest?
Depending on demand.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Budapest? Can you offer some advice to other students?
Cheap accommodations are not very nice even if they are shown as nice and clean in pictures. If you prefer to study and live in peace and quiet better to pay a little more than to be disturbed and pay with your nerves.
What is the food like? Which are your favourite dishes?
Everything, regardless of taste, is to be found there. If you want Chinese, Omas-kitchen, Hungarian specialities. Simply everything.
Which places should be visited in any case in Budapest?
Consult any tourist guide, they can be found in every language in bars.
Can you eat well outside in Budapest? Would you tell us your favourite places to eat out?
I don't go out. I take care of myself at home.
Is the nightlife good in Budapest? Where are the best places to party?
I don't know anymore because I'm 60 years old.
What would you tell future students in Budapest?
Diligence, endurance, health.
