What is it like to live in Budapest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Budapest is a really fascinating city, it has been ranked as one of the 10 capital cities with the best panoramic view in the world! I think it s breathtaking to walk at the river,a great place for partying, experiencing food (cheap), going to the opera and enjoy the fame of this city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

A great life, excellent and an absolutely fabulous library at Kalvin ter.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

It is relatively easy to manage with the money, but you have to be beware: not every restaurant is cheap. Learn about Hungarian Forint so that you can immediately exchnage rates in head. Accommodation is not that expensive, you can find cheap food and culture is almost for no money.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Budapest? Is there any advice you can give?

I have my own flat, so that s an exceptional situation..

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Goulash, Hortobagyi palacsinta, Fözelek: which is like a thick soup, gives you a lot of energy and bloody cheap. I recommend you learn to cook it and you will save lot of money in hard financial times.

What places would you recommend visiting in Budapest?

Opera, New York cafe, Invisible Exhibition, Theaters, Sziklatemplom at Gellert, Szechenyi Bath, just to name some..

Is it good to eat out in Budapest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It s not Hungarian, but my favorite Greek restaurant is Dionysos Restaurant in the city center, at the Danube. Best to go there 3-4 person together ,try many kind of "antipasti", and share food.

Is the nightlife good in Budapest? Where is good to go?

Excellent nightlife, it s a city which lives!Go anywhere in Kazinczy street, you ll find something for your taste.

What advice would you give future students heading to Budapest?

Learn a few words in Hungarian
Try to find someone who gives you Hungarian lessons in exchange of your mother tongue' lessons
Always count in your head the exchange rates and be careful with the expenses
Enjoy, have a great time in Budapest!
