What is it like to live in Budapest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The special central european feeling makes the capital - especially the downtown - outstanding and admirable.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

Students usually go out with friends to parks, pubs and restaurants to participate in public occasions such as live concerts, pub-quiz shows and so on. The Budapest lifestyle is really unique "flavoured "with Hungarian traditions.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

Not really expensive. Dormitories (min. 60-70 eur per capita) are cheaper than sublats or flats (min 120 eur. But dormitories and colleges are often in bad condition of repair.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Budapest? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is not so difficult. It is recommended to search special websites on this topic.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Especially hungarian cuisine is widely prefered, but the majority of Hungarian restaurants have more expensive prices for western touristes. But in general, there are several cheap fast food and other restaurants in the centre town.

What places would you recommend visiting in Budapest?

Every intresting places in the centre town, especially the Mount Gellért and its panorama. For entartainment, Kazinczy street is the best place for students.

Is it good to eat out in Budapest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I do not have favourit, but it is possible to check any restaurans and spots on electronic map.

Is the nightlife good in Budapest? Where is good to go?

Kazinczy street, Grand Avenue.

What advice would you give future students heading to Budapest?

Just try out every particularities of the Hungarian lifestyle and Budapest. If you have enough time, you should also take some journeys in Hungary, but just on coach, because trains are awful.
