Why did you choose to go to Budapest, Hungary?
I choose Budapest because it's a big city with a lot of cultural events and happenings. The city did not disappoint me.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I was there for 4 months. Around 300 euros per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?
It's easy. Many fun parties and overall I think most courses was easy.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Budapest to other students?
Yes, definitely. It's a great city to be an exchange student in. So many exchange student events and parties. It's so many exchange students so it's easy for doing friends.
What is the food like?
You can eat very cheap and very expensive. Overall is the quality good.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Budapest?
It's easy to find accommodation.
How much does it cost to live in Budapest?
Depending on your standards. A room in a shared flat is usually around 300-400 euros/month. Besides, that one can choose to live cheap or spend a lot of money on food and so on.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is very difficult but there are courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Budapest from your city?
By airplane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Budapest?
Yes, for sure!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Budapest?
Dobrumba, Bezsallo, My little Melbourne, Lampas (the last one is a bar though).
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Many good museums!
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Budapest in the future?
Do it, it's really a fun city to do an exchange!
