Why did you choose to go to Budapest, Hungary?

Because it`s an amazin city and there are a lot of places for visit, always people want to make studies or trips to other popular countries and cities but Budapest is a true paradise in the middle of europe.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got a scholarship from the Mexican government (I am from Mexico) and another extra scholarship from my home university, these scholarships helped me to solve many living costs, like accomodation and plane tickets. I suggest to finding all possible supports from your home countries.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

I think that depends on the university and program where you are studying, you will have all the possibilities of student lifestyle as you can imagine, there are a lot of them! The student lifestyle is very interestingt and funny, there are a lot of places where you can find really good parties and places to meet new people and make friends too.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Budapest to other students?

I highly recommend Budapest, if you choose this city, you will have a lot of new experiences for the rest fo your life! You will not regret a bit! And in my individual experience, I studied at METU Budapest, which is a great University!

What is the food like?

Personally, the food is good, you have many options, but the experience depends on each person.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Budapest?

Absolutely not, here in erasmusu.com, there are many great and trustworthy options!

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

Personally, Budapest is not an expensive city, all prices are accessible and many people think the same.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

For sure not, the language is very hard! But if you speak at least english, you will be fine, and of course, there are many types of courses at the university including Hungarian.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Budapest from your city?

From Mexico it is very expensive unless you look for a good offer, but in generally there is not many of them. But if you are from another country in Europe, or from some countries of Africa and Asia,you are more likely to find a good price.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Budapest?

Definitely, Instant club, Morrinson`s Club, Fuge, Szimpla, among others.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Budapest?

Of course, Frici Papa restaurant, it`s a good place if you don`t have a lot of money and Rizmajer bar, where you can find good food and also enjoy beer.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are too many! like museums, Buda Castle, Fisherman`s Bastion, Citadella, Margaret Island, The Hngarian Parlament (which is my favorite, it`s amazing), and also you can visit the Baths (very famous and beautiful thermal baths).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Budapest in the future?

Budapest is the best option by far, you will enjoy a party, a good university atmosphere, you will meet people from all over the world, not only Hungarians, I assure you, it will definitely be the best experience of your life and your best choice, do not hesitate!
