Why did you choose to go to Budapest, Hungary?

Because I had no option when I was choosing my destination, but now without any doubt I know that it was the best decision ever!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It was 5 months. I received 300 euro per month, but I have to say that it's not enough because if you want to pay for rent, food, parties, transportation... You need more.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

Actually it depends on the university. I went to Pazmany Peter Catholic. It was really easy and you only had a few hours of class per week.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Budapest to other students?

Yes, of course. The hardest university is Corvinus, but for example mine is really easy and every course is really easy to pass.

What is the food like?

Spicy! Everything is spicy. I thought I liked the spicy food, but I have to say that you don't know how it is until you get here. Goulash is the typical food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Budapest?

No, because I first looked for the roommates and then for the flat with SRS Budapest, which is a company. I reserved it before going to Budapest to have where to sleep when I got there; it was perfect.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

My rent was 270 euro plus bills. You can find cheaper flats, of course, but if you want to have it before going to Budapest then don't risk it. You have to accept this price. Transportation is 12 euro per month with the ISIC card and food depends on you.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Budapest in the future?

The best districts are V, VI and VII. I lived in VII and the best idea is to live close to the tram line 4 or 6 because you can go to everywhere from there. The most common places to live are Blaha Lujza Ter or Oktogon.

The weather was very good the first months, but in November it started to get cold. Everything in general is cheaper than in Spain, France, Germany... but you have to be careful because when you realize you spent a lot of money because of that, it can be too late!
