Why did you choose to go to Budapest, Hungary?

I chose Budapest because I have been told that dentistry at Semmelweis was very good, I was excited and Budapest is simply amazing!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was lucky because my scholarship covered all the months I spent there and it was enough to live (and party)!

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

It's stunning! It's a multicultural environment with people from all over the world and if you like partying, you have many options.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Budapest to other students?

100% yes.

What is the food like?

Since I'm Italian, the Hungarian food wasn't my thing, but everytime I travel, I try the country's tipical dishes.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Budapest?

I can recommend the Roommates Budapest website, I found it useful!

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

It's an European capital city and it is cheaper than many others, so that helps.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

Not really! Hungarian it's not an easy language, but you learn the basics.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Budapest from your city?

I'm from Turin, so I recommend flying with WizzAir.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Budapest?

I can write a book on that. There are so many clubs that you can find whatever you like! I can suggest Szimpla Kert, Morrison's and some others pubs to start the night and then clubs like Symbol, Ötkert, Romkert, Holdudvar, White Angel and all the ones in the Buda side.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Budapest?

Of course! I like eating well and I tried some wonderful restaurants like Costes and Onyx (I suggest going for lunch because it's cheaper) then some typical ones like Borlabor, For Sale pub (good price for Goulash), Pampas (great Argentinian steaks) and many others. If you want to have your meal delivered try netpincer. Ruszwurm Confectionery in the Buda side is simply delicious!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The city is really charming, the Pest side is more lively with some museums to visit and I recommend Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church in Buda, they have a special atmosphere. Also Margit Island is a must see place when the weather is good!

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Budapest?

It's a wonderful choice. Have fun guys!
