Why did you choose to go to Budapest, Hungary?

It is a nice city with a lot of beautiful places to vist as a tourist. Transportation is quite cheap and people are welcoming. Traffic jam is not often hard to manage; The language barrier is the biggest challenge but in a lot of public places some people speak english.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My Scolarship is for 1 year. As internee is an IT company, I receive 680€ and it is just enought for rent, bills transport and food.

What is the student lifestyle like in Budapest?

going to school lol but asid of that, some are involved in many activities like dancing classes, volonteering in some library. some like to meet other foreigners as they are often events for meeting. Beer degustation, season parties and festivals, etc.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Budapest to other students?

YES I highly recommend that. Teaching is good quality, classes are comfortable, Univesity is nice place

What is the food like?

Food is quite diverse. A lot of fastfood, kebab and typical hungarian fastfood; But also italian french indian ... restaurant. These ;ast are quite expensive for a student budget but once at the time could do.

In the public market food is cheap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Budapest?

Accomation starting becoming expensive. Shared flat is what every student prefer, because price is affordable even in the city center.

How much does it cost to live in Budapest?

Around 500€ to 700€ for a strict minimum

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Not at all. hungarian is the nationallanguage and not easy to learn. Taking course is a lust for those wanting to learn it. there are hungarian courses available at university yes

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Budapest from your city?

By Plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Budapest?

Deak place have many great place where to relax , drink beer and have fun

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Budapest?

Pizza lovers should try PizzaHut, cheap and tasty.

Vapiano for italian foods.

Dunacorso is my àpreferred, along Danube river with a terrace

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Too many, Heros place, Parliament, spa centers, citadel, opera, Danube river.

For girls liking shopping they may often visit New yorker who used to have very interesting sales.

If you want to dance Salsa go to caribean Dance club in Deak Ferenc. prices are affordable for small budget, and quality dance very nice and in english.

There are a lot of thermal bath and swimming pool opened even during winter.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Budapest in the future?

Just be caution on personal belongings when going along Harmincketezek tere in tram because pickpocket often go around.
