How to travel from Budapest to Vienna?
The single greatest thing about Europe is that with a valid schengen visa you have the opportunity to travel to 27 different countries one after the other. I mean, how great is that? to be able to roam around this beautiful continent easily and be able to discover all these magnificent countries? to me honestly it sounds like a dream come true. Of course this was before realizing that my schedule is going to be jam packed with university and I'm not going to have much free time to travel. However, a girl can dream right? I mean, I finish my exams in mid jan and I'm planning a huge getaway for then, and yes, my blog is going to be lit then! As for today, let's talk about one of the most beautiful cities of all Europe, Vienna. Vienna and Budapest are really nearby each other and a lot of people actually plan to visit both cities at once. The distance is literally less than 250 kilometers and so it takes about 2 hours or 2 and a half hours to be get to vienna from Budapest. Below are a few ways we can go to Vienna from Budapest:
1) Via airplane
Before I go any further you should know that going to Vienna via flight is an absolute mistake. Do not do it; the only advantage of using this method is that the flight duration is super short. I mean, the ticket prices vary but they are something around 100 Euros if not more. While researching for this entry I checked the ticket prices from Budpest to Vienna and honestly I was shocked at how expensive it all was, there was a ticket for 200 Dollars! Are you kidding me? I mean the money aside, imagine having to go to the Airport here and then from the airport in Vienna. It's just so not worth it. Okay now that we have settled that, we can move on to more reasonable means of transportation and how efficient they actually are. I mean, flights are affordable to anywhere in Europe just not to Vienna; it's more affordable to travel by other means.
2) Via bus
This is one of the rather commonly used routes to Vienna, which I definitely suggest. The journey is about 3 hours or less and the prices are crazy affordable compared to an airplane. The most famous website for tickets is goeuro.com but you can check out different bus companies and compare their prices together. I don't think there is more information that I can give you regarding the bus services.

3) By train
Another convenient and easy way to travel to Vienna is by train. This is specially good if you're a Sheldon and like to travel by trains. I'm not too much of a big fan but I do choose a train over a bus any day. For this purpose I want to introduce this great website, which is excellent in trip plannings via train. There is this company called Orangeways and a lot of people use it for traveling to Vienna and other destinations, of course. Their fares are fair and it takes about 4 hours to get to Vienna. There is also the lesser known "Rail jet" which is a high speed train and you can use it to travel to Vienna just under 3 hours. I have never used it so I can't really give you more information. I suggest checking out the website I provided above, they have really through and clear information.

I will add information to this entry as I learn more details about the routes to Vienna, until then, I hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
