Well I'm always super critical of the persian restaurants I go to outside of Iran, mostly because well none of them can be as good as the ones inside of iran and I don't know I usually turn out to be disappointed as hell with it. So I have been quite reluctant to go to and try this one out as well but the truth is the other day i kept daydreaming about jooje kebab, which is basically chicken kebab and I couldn't resist anymore. Yesterday right after an exam and after a really long period of sickness I finally caved in and decided to go to the Persian restaurant and order me some good old chicken kebab, I took my best friend with me and obviously as a foreigner she is obsesssed with Persian food just like everyone else.

The restaurant is easily accessible via public transport, both the 4/6 tram and the metro line M3, so choose whichever way you prefer and then there is this 5 minute walk to get there. I'll put the exact address and then you can use your best friend google maps to get there.

The exact address is: Budapest, Szemere u. 22, 1054 . it's usually open until 10 pm at night but check the schedule on google before heading out there. The entrance is a small door so be sure to not miss it. once you enter you can already smell the Persian food smell wafting through the air and there is this lady which greets you completely in Persian even though she's not Persian herself, it's so cool. And she greets everyone in Persian regardless of where they are from. She's a real cutie pie and enjoyed her bubbly attitude so much.

We got settled down in a booth and they had these traditional designs with a bunch of posters from different parts of Iran hung up. They brought us the menu and they had all types of Persian stews for around 2000 forints and then all the kebab types of course, there was lamb, ribs, minced kebab and chicken kebab. Of course given how much I was craving chicken kebab we went along with that, my friends ordered the same. We also had some lemonade with rose water and another one with mint. The lemonades cost around 450 forints,(less than two euros).

The food took slightly long to get ready or maybe I was just too hungry, It was about 15 minutes or so before they brought my food and I inhaled my food instead of eating it. hahha kidding but seriously the portion was quite large and so I had to take breaks in between to breathe. To my surprise I wasn't disappointed with the food, it was good to eat, it's not bad at all actually, I mean of course it doesn't compare with the food in iran but it's something I would go and have again, maybe this time I'd have the lamb kebab and i'll see how that turns out. The prices were something from 2300 forints for chicken kebab to about 4000 forints for ribs

Definitely do go and try this place out if you are in the mood for some Persian food and let me know what you think.

Cheers
