Cafe hopping: Massolit books and cafe
All of these cafe hopping pieces was just to prepare you guys for the real deal, I was just preping you guys for this amazing cafe, hands down one of my favorite places in Budapest, you would know if you actually followed me on instagram, I have been killing my followers with various pictures of this cafe, to top the amazingness of this it's not just a cafe but it's also a book store !! yes I know and not just Hungarian books like every other cafe or bookshop in Budapest, It has English books, actually most of them are in English and it's freaking fucking great. Sorry for the swear word I'm just so so excited to write about this place; I'm legit in love with it and their baristas are the nicest people in Hungary. Okay I know you guys always think I'm overexaggerating but I swear this time I'm not, I'm not even overselling it at all. I know I'm too in love with this place but I can guarantee that you guys will like too if not hopelessly fall in love with it.
(Magical Am I Right)
First let's see how you can get there, well massolit is located in the 7 th district i know which district because that's also the district I live in; don't come stalking me. Anyways the exact address is : Budapest, Nagy Diófa u. 30, 1072 , and well just as everything esle in Budapest, Massolit is also easily accessible via public transport, well first of all you can use the 4/6 tram and get off at wesselenyi utca tram station, use google maps and the walk is about 6-7 minutes, I usually take this way but my friends also came from Astoria metro station and they also walked for about 10 minutes, just check and see whichever way is more convenient for you.
Next up once there, the moment you enter you feel the coziness of the place creep up on you, it feels like as if you have entered you grandma's living room, it's warm and homey. The baristas are so nice and friendly I have already made friends with all of them, they are all amazing. You don't have that many options to sit but there are small chairs and couches available and although most of them are usually taken you can find a good seat for sure. The cafe is sort of a stretch and has a book shelf on literally every corner and wall, The number of books are endless and almost all of them are in english with the exception of some German books.
The only thing bad about Massolit is that it's only open until 7;30 but it is open every day so don't worry about that. I wished it was actually open for longer hours but oh well. As for the menu it's pretty diverse and they don't bring menus to your table so you have to walk up to the counter and read it from there. The options are good, their most famous drink is this drink called "The dirty hippie", and well that is their most popular drink according to the barista and so I ordered that once, it's basically like chai latte with a shot of espresso, to be honest i didn't like it as much, it was only okay but I had their chai latte another time and god now that was freaking great you have no idea. Oh also regarding their cakes and cookies they are really good and so you should definitely try them out, I personally tried the cheese cake and the carrot cake and I'd honestly rate the carrot cake 9/10, it was so creamy and tasty I'm actually craving some right now. The cheesecake was good too nothing special though it was a normal cheese cake.

Now the great thing about this place, I mean on top the atomsphere, the sitting area, the lights, the vibe, the barista, the cakes and the drinks is the fact that it's also a book store, it's a cheap bookstore to put it simply! I mean my friend bought two books each at the price of 500 forints, that's less than two euros, some of the books are really new and some might be a little older but they are all great nonetheless. Imagine the perfect afternoon, some great convos, drinks and finding a perfectly cheap and amazing book to read. I really do hope that you guys get to go there, and hey you might even catch me there, I'm a huge fan of the place and usually go there to get some work done.
(here's me, I know this will brighten up your day)
Hope you are enjoying the fact that I'm active again and hopefull we can get to discover more places like this together.
Cheers
