Brussels in a Day
I took a day trip to Brussels while I was on Erasmus in Gent. It was easy enough to get the train there from Gent. Myself and a friend decided to take a bus tour around the city as we could fit everything in. Our ticket actually covered two different lines so we took in a lot of sightseeing. There is a variety of things to see on the blue line tour including the famous Atomium. I didn't go inside but it is a marvellous thing to see from the outside. It is huge and there is an opportunity to take pictures as one of the stops is right outside it. The red line tour drives past such places such as the Royal Palace and Leopold Park. I think it is the most efficient way of travelling around Brussels.
While it is a nice place, I do find it to be very industralised. Of course it is home to the European Parliment so I find it brings a very business like atmosphere to the city. I do like it and am glad I visited it but it is not the most beautiful city I have been to. It is achievable to travel around in a few hours so you only need a day.
