What is it like to live in Brugge? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's a lovely city to walk through. Nice buildings, architecture. It's a cosy city, I really like living here as a student! I would recommend living in Bruges.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brugge?

The student lifestyle is fun here but not as fun as Ghent which is the real student city not far from here. Wanna have a great party? Definitely go out on Thursday at the "Eiermarkt". Other nights, you should go to Ghent for parties. The students here are very open and welcoming to each other, expect to have lots of new friends in student apartments spread over the city.

How much does it cost to live in Brugge?

Bruges is not cheap at all, especially not for a student. Bruges is popular among tourists and they know it which has an influence on the prices.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Brugge? Is there any advice you can give?

No, there are plenty of options to go to. You can look accommodations up on the internet. The school will help you out to find anything if you ask them. Kotwest.be might be a nice site to start searching.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is good in general but I'm used to Belgian food so yeah...

What places would you recommend visiting in Brugge?

I don't really have any preferences. If you don't know where to go anymore, just go walking in the streets, go explore, take a left or right by random, go into small streets. I bet you will find a lot of interesting things along the way. I did... I can't get tired of this.

Is it good to eat out in Brugge? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's good to eat out in Bruges. Restaurants are a little pricey. You might want to look into student deals from an ISIC card or something like that. Or go get some take-away.

Is the nightlife good in Brugge? Where is good to go?

For nightlife, you need to go to the "Eiermarkt". There are several bars that the students often go to. "De coulissen" might also be something you want to visit, it's near the previous bars I mentioned.

What advice would you give future students heading to Brugge?

Just enjoy every moment of your stay and get the most out of it!
