Brookings is a very safe welcoming place. South Dakota State University puts on many events and throughout the community there is usually something going on. The town isn't too small, but also isn't big whatsoever. I highly recommend it as a place to go to college.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brookings?

If you are a student on campus everything is walking distance. Otherwise, if you want to go downtown to the bars it's too far to walk. As a student the lifestyle is very relaxed, there is always something to do.

How much does it cost to live in Brookings?

The cost of living in Brookings is very low.

It is not hard to find accommodation, there are apartments, houses, and dorms available.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is typical american food. Food on the college campus is expensive.

What places would you recommend visiting in Brookings?

The parks in Brookings are nice.

Cook's Kitchen, Old Market, and Nick's Burgers are good places to eat in the community.

Is the nightlife good in Brookings? Where is good to go?

If you are 21, downtown is a good place to hang out. On the college campus there are usually activities to do on the weekend nights.

What advice would you give future students heading to Brookings?

Do as many activities as possible and you will meet many people. The Greek community is growing in Brookings and I highly recommend checking it out.
