As you have probably guessed from my previous entries, I am simply in love with the island of Barbados. When I first went there last March, I was amazed by the friendliness of the local people, the way of life that is lived there, all of the sights that this small island has to offer, and an unbelievable beaches with turquoise waters.

During my first stay in Barbados, I decided to explore the inland of the island a bit, and went to the Grantley Adams International airport as the starting point. Then, I continued to the way towards Bridgetown, and soon, I have reached a spot, where I noticed many identically – looking little houses in the distance. When I came closer, I noticed a big sign that said: Villages at Coverley, a new place to call home. This is not really a sightseeing place, but I loved walking around. The main road goes in a circle, and there are several smaller driveaways that lead to houses, and the road goes into a circle again.

Inside the circle, you can find a recreational place, a bank, a health centre and a restaurant. In the middle of the circle, there is also a footbal court.

This place is actually a residental community, and even if it is situated only about three kilometers away from a very busy airport, you can barely hear the planes there.

After I got home, I decided to find out more about this villages, and I found out that those houses are actually sold as luxury villas, the prices starting at two hundred thousandt dollars. I am not sure that it could live there, because I probably would not be able to find my own house since they all look the same. And the place consists of over one thousandt similar houses.

By the way, the way from the airport is really exhausting, because if there are no clouds, the sun is very strong. Another thing I found interesting about Barbados is, that all the roads, even highways, have pavements. So you are walking next to a busy highway on a narrow pavement, hoping that no one will hit you by a car. But luckily, on my way back to the airport, one of the locals stopped by me and asked if I need a ride. And he did not take me to the airport only, but all the way back to the place where I was staying. Did I mention friendly local people before?
