What is it like to live in Brest? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Brest is a wonderful city! I would definitely recommend it to students. Brest is not really a big city but it is just big enough to feel at home! There are a lot of different students and that is a pleasure to live there!
You can easily go to beaches and enjoy a beautiful French west coast scenery.
What is the student lifestyle like in Brest?
It is a pleasure! The students are really nice and welcoming! It is easy to make new friends.
There are a lot of parties, concerts and festivals organised for the students by the city or the university! There are a lot of different bars and night clubs, it won't be difficult for you to find yours!
How much does it cost to live in Brest?
You can live in a university accommodation, there are really nice and it is quiet cheap. Or you can loan a flat: the cost depends of a lot of things like the location or how much big the flat is. But for a average flat it will cost 300 €.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Brest? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not really difficult to find an accommodation: you can search by your own in this website: Le bon coin or a real estate can help you.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
In Brest you can find a lot of different restaurants. The food in the university cafeteria is French food, you can also eat sandwiches, there are a lot of possibilities.
What places would you recommend visiting in Brest?
I really love Brest city center, my favorite bar/cafe is "La petite poésie", I deeply recommend it!
I also recommend you to visit beaches near Brest, "Le phare du minou" is just a piece of paradise!
And the big aquarium "Océanopolis" as well!
Is it good to eat out in Brest? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
It is very good to eat out in Brest, because there are a lot of very different restaurants!
Is the nightlife good in Brest? Where is good to go?
The nightlife in Brest is great! "La guarida" is a very original bar, try it! "Le 54 café" is a bar with 54 flavour of shots! And "Murphy's" is a wonderful pub!
What advice would you give future students heading to Brest?
No hesitation, Brest is a lovely city and a wonderful place to study! You will never forget this city and the people!
Just be confident, have fun and everything gonna be perfect :)
