Brescia, Italy

Brescia is a large city, which has great history and famous for Roman architectural buildings and lot more other things. The initial finding of the Brescia city has combined with lot of mythological stories of Hercules, Troy etc. however, due to the proud history of the city, it is enriched with lot of ancient values, architectural monuments, buildings, churches, museums, parks etc.

This city is located at the north part of Italy, few distance away from lake Garda. You can conveniently reach there by bus or by train. If you go to this city you can visit Piazza del Foro, which is an old square surrounded by old Roman building in the historic centre. This is an important place, which is a great evidence for the greatest Roman architectural design and the history of the city. Most commonly this place is known as the heart of the city.

Besides that, you can visit the Museo della Città or Museo di Santa Giulia, which exhibit all the ancient collections and the archaeological belonging of the city. Most of the time when you visit these museums, it is a must to buy the tickets but, they offer tickets under different packages for young people, students and elder people.

Cathedral of the city is great creation in the city. Especially, there are both Dumo churches as old Dumo and the new Dumo which was built in a later period. Both cathedrals located alongside to each other in Piazza Paolo VI.

Apart from these places, you can visit Piazza della Vittoria, which is a magnificent square designed by Marcello Piacentini. It is an important evidence for great architecture in 1930s era. If you like to discover the history and the architectural values then you must go to this place.

My knowledge regarding the accommodations and the best restaurants in the city is limited since I had a one day trip to Brescia. But it was not limited for only one-time journey. I have visited this city more than three times since it takes only one hour to travel there from Verona, where I live. When you go there, you can discover much more things.
