What is it like to live in Bremen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I liked Bremen because you can get anywhere by bike. The university is close to a national park, which is perfect for a bike tour after lecture and a stop at the organic farm for ice cream.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bremen?
It is very easy. There are cheap supermarkets everywhere and great flea markets. The Viertel has great vegan restaurants and other places with delicious food. It is great to swim and relax in the Unisee or in the river Weser.
How much does it cost to live in Bremen?
It depends on where you stay and what your lifestyle is. You can live in a shared house from €250 up to €450 but you can also have your own flat from €350-€650 per month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bremen? Is there any advice you can give?
Have a look on Facebook and also "Das schwarze Brett".
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Well, we the Germans like our bread. Bremen has some very good bakeries and you can also find great places with an oriental background.
What places would you recommend visiting in Bremen?
The Eislabor, an organic farm nearby the university, downtown, the Viertel, etc.
Is it good to eat out in Bremen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, there are a couple of great places.
Is the nightlife good in Bremen? Where is good to go?
There is one party street with some clubs but also have a look at the boat parties!
What advice would you give future students heading to Bremen?
Get everywhere by bike!
