Why did you choose to go to Bremen, Germany?

I choose Bremen because it is a small city where you can move by walking and there are a lot of people from other countries and cultures. I wanted also to speak German and I thought it was the perfect chance.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It depends. I can't remember the amount of money but Bremen is cheaper than ohter cities of Germany. I think I received like 800 Euros for the whole period but with 250 or 300 Euros per month you can live well in Bremen.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bremen?

The University in Bremen has so much life. They are always creating events or meetings and you meet so many students from other countries or differents parts of Germany. Bremen has many things for students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Bremen to other students?

Yes, of course. In spite of the weather, it's a beautiful place where you can have so much fun at night but also during the day. You can do a lot of things and there are other areas close by that you can visit, like Hamburg.

What is the food like?

The food is not one of the important things in Bremen. They like the "currywurst" and things like that. But you can find some really good places. I remember one which had a delicious hamburger. The name of the place is Burgerhaus in Viertel.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bremen?

I was lucky because I applied through the University and they got me an appartment in one of the accommodations they have.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is a bit hard, specially if you have never spoken German. At the beginning it's difficult to understand what they say but with time you can learn. And in 80% of the cases, they speak English very well. I tried a course at the University but I didn't like it so I found another in the Volkshochschule with very good prices and good level.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bremen from your city?

For me the best was Ryanair. It was the only company that flew directly to my city and at the best price.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bremen?

You have a lot of places. In winter you need to go to some Discos like Stubu or La Viva or Tower, it depends on the style of music you prefer but for me the best was Stubu, which had five different styles of music inside. In spring or summer you can go around Viertel and drink a beer outside the Bars.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bremen?

Burgerhaus and Shuttinger, but I recommend to go with three or four people to share the food and pay the bill.
