What is it like to live in Bozeman? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is a fairly quiet community however, there's always something going on downtown during the weekends. Bozeman is a town for people who want to be outside in the mountains or drinking beer at a local bar or brewery.

It's very cold in the winter and snow can be seen late in May after winter has already passed. Summer's are great because it's never too hot or too cold. Fall is pretty but short lived.

There's only one bus system in Bozeman and although their routes are pretty good, they only come by 1x per hour. So if you get to your bus stop a minute late you have to wait an hour before it will be back and by then you have already missed class. If you live on campus, can walk, or have other transportation this will not be a problem but it can be convenient because it is free.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bozeman?

Students are typically busy with school and work during the week and Friday-Sunday are for partying however, if you are not 21 this can be difficult.

How much does it cost to live in Bozeman?

It is probably around $600-$700/month. Housing is pricey and if you eat out a lot it will be even more.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bozeman? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes. Living in student housing is easiest because a lot of landlords do not rent to college students or those with pets.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

A lot of good restaurants downtown, if you can afford to go out. Steaks and good home style meals but my personal favorite is Dave's Sushi.

What places would you recommend visiting in Bozeman?

Hiking around Bozeman at the M or Hyalite. Or take a quick trip to Big Sky for skiing or snowboarding. A lot of great stuff for the outdoorsman. Limited shopping but local businesses are fun to check out.

Is it good to eat out in Bozeman? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Dave's Sushi, taco del sol, naked noodle (downtown has the best food)

Is the nightlife good in Bozeman? Where is good to go?

Not really, unless you are 21 and can go to the bars downtown.

What advice would you give future students heading to Bozeman?

Find someone with a car or have one of your own so you can explore more. It's easy to get places because there's hardly any traffic however, things are spread out so you need a car to get anywhere.
