What is it like to live in Bordeaux? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Bordeaux is one of the best cities in France. It is a medium city with a lot of activities.

I really recommend it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bordeaux?

The student lifestyle is really full of life. You have a lot of activities and reduce prices for student.

How much does it cost to live in Bordeaux?

Not so much. Like a classic city in France.

To get an idea: a pint of beer is about 5-6€ full and 3-4€ when there are reduced price (happy hour). You can eat in good restaurant for 12€... Transports are not expensive either.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bordeaux? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes it is. If you are looking for early, it will be ok.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Bordeaux is the world capital of wine. I let you taste it. Also, as everywhere in France, the food is generally well-made, you can be reassured.

What places would you recommend visiting in Bordeaux?

I was born in Bordeaux, I spent 20 years in this city and every time I walk in the historic center of the city, I am always impressed about the beauty of the old streets and the architecture... But don't worry if you like visiting, there are tons of beautiful monuments.

Is it good to eat out in Bordeaux? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes really. There are traditional restaurants, and tons of small restaurant and bars delightful.

Is the nightlife good in Bordeaux? Where is good to go?

There are different kinds of nightlife in Bordeaux. Whatever you like, you will find place for you. The bar's nightlife is really sympathic but expensive. Tons of classic nightclub. And electronic music clubs propose a good quality of international DJs. (Check IBOAT).

What advice would you give future students heading to Bordeaux?

If you want to learn French and to spend months in France, Bordeaux is the city for you looking for. A nice weather, a perfect size, lots of activities. An advice: buy a bike in a market (50€) and you will use it every day.
