How is student life in Bordeaux?

Super! There are many places to go out with friends: restaurants, bars, cafes and nightclubs! Nothing is missing. The numerous faculties make it possible to unite plenty of students!

How are living costs in Bordeaux?

It's not extremely expensive but certainly, you can't go out every night. It's between €3. 50 and €6 to eat at the university. The happy hours are great. Accommodation remains reasonable but a shared flat is the best option in terms of finance in order to be able to have a spacious and fairly inexpensive apartment.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bordeaux? Have you got advice to give?

No. There are many estate agents that help you to find what you want. What's more, there are many, many student halls which are currently being built near the Pessac and Talence campuses.

I recommend a shared flat, which will allow you to have a proper apartment; very cool and not too expensive. However, it's also good to have accommodation in between the university and Bordeaux's city centre.

How is the city's food? What are your favourite dishes?

There is a lot of food; in the city especially with different specialities. There are kebab shops, woks, sushi, Irish pubs, Italians, burritos and fast food, etc...

Which places do you recommend to see in Bordeaux?

The mirror of water at the Place de la Bourse is really the place I prefer when there is nice weather in Bordeaux! It's pleasant to have a little water point in the city; by the river and on the docks.

And to eat in Bordeaux? Can you tell us your favourite places?

Rue Saint Rémi is the nicest street you can find restaurants on. It's right in the city centre and there are heaps of different restaurants. After, there is the Place du Parlement or the Place Camille Jullian, which also offer restaurants but they are perhaps a bit more expensive.

Which places do you recommend to go out in Bordeaux?

To go out, the students often go to the Place de la Victoire. There are quite a few bars there. After, you can find plenty of other bars in the streets perpendicular to the Rue Saintes Catherine.

Then to go out to the clubs, you have to go on the docks near the station. The club La Plage is the biggest of the docks' nightclubs.
