Why did you choose to go to Bordeaux, France?

I chose to go to Bordeaux as it appealed to me in many ways. Situated near the coast there are ample opportunities to go to the beach and surf etc. The city is called one of the best cities in Europe, or even the world, one of the two and it lives up to that reputation.

Along with the Erasmus grant and student loan from England, you can also apply for housing aid through the CAF, which is helpful re rent.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bordeaux?

The student lifestyle is pretty good. Obviously the city centre is where everything is and there are loads of cool places to go to have a good time. Like all cities, you need to explore to find whatever takes your fancy, and in Bordeaux you are sure to find somewhere you'll like.

Yes

There are language courses at the uni that are a part of being an Erasmus student. However if you interact with the French, then your French will improve immeasurably.

The tram is the best way to travel and you can get a yearly tram and bus ticket for around €18 a month. Alternatively, investing in a bike is another great way to travel around the city.

There are many monuments in Bordeaux as it has a rich history. Go to DARWIN!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Bordeaux in the future?

French uni halls are not like English halls in terms of the social aspect of it however if you make the effort to meet others there should be no problem whatsoever in terms of the social aspect
