Experience in University of Birmingham, United Kingdom by Alberto

Generally, what is University of Birmingham like?

It looks great, I think they have everything that students would need.

What are the facilities like?

The dorms have two rooms which are quite warm and all the rooms are big enough for you to work comfortably. Also the connection between all rooms is good.

What are the tutors like?

They are good, they explain everything and they help you anytime you need it.

Are the lessons easy in University of Birmingham?

I did not have classes, I only had one metabolomics course and it was difficult to follow because it was a complex field and the English language didn't help at all.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

They organise activities but I could not attend any, so I can't tell you my opinion or experience.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Like I told you before, I didn't have any classes, so I don't really know.

Are there any stories you can share?

Yes, the first time I arrived, it was difficult because we had booked a house, but we did not know how it look like, so when we got there, the neighbourhood was really dangerous because (among other things) the area was full of drug dealers. So two hours after we got there, we left the house and my friends and me went to a hotel and lived there for two days. So my advice is that before you book something, you have to be careful and you have to check both the house and the area before paying anything. This advice is logical but I did not follow it.
