How do you find living in Besançon? Do you recommend it? How is it?

Besançon is a very pleasant city; not very big so distances to get from one place to another are concise. There is a very well organised bus system as well as special student prices. The tram (one single line) crosses the entire city from east to west, passing through the city centre. The climate is mild. The ski resorts aren't far away but it snows very little in Besançon itself.

It's pleasant like all the university cities are. The Erasmus have many activities and exchanges with the people from there.

How much does it cost to live in Besançon?

It's not cheap but depending on the type of accommodation, it's affordable to anyone.

Was it hard to find accommodation in Besançon? Can you give any advice?

For me no but my scholarship included accommodation.

How is the country's food? What are your favourite dishes?

Good. Even in the student cafeteria, there is variety for each person to choose what they want to eat. It's possible to eat balanced and cheaply.

Which places do you recommend visiting in Besançon?

La Citadelle, World Heritage Site (UNESCO). The city has architecture which dates back to the Renaissance. You can go through it on foot or cycle... There are many places of interest in the surroundings and there is nature for activities in the fresh air.

And to eat in Besançon? Can you name your favourite places?

That depends on the means of each individual... There are many bars and restaurants in the centre.

There are bars and clubs.
