I'll be moving to Berlin next week.
I do need to find a WG and all that ich-bin-eben-angekommen stuff but I'm not very interested in that. I'm not interested in where you want to find your ideal WG either. I'm just opening this thread to see if, maybe, some of you want to meet up somewhere in the first days of september to discover what the city has to offer.
I'm not very enthusiastic about the typical Erasmus-parties, they are not really my style. So if anyone thinks that she/ze/he would enjoy endless hours of walking around Kreuzberg, Neukölln, Freidrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, Schöneberg or any other area (if it's not raining like crazy), and shares some topics of interest with me (feminism, queer, politics, europe's history, books, goodol'music, transgender, social movements usw.) that would be very nice.
Bis die Tage.

Hi Monika !
I'll arrive in Berlin in a few days now, and since the classes in the FU begin mid-october, I don't really know what I'll be doing in September !
So I'd love to discover the city with other Erasmus students !!
When are you arriving in Berlin?
Have a nice day!

Hi Monika,
I know what you mean..i'm not very interested in crazy erasmus life neither..
I would also like to just have a walk, a coffee or a drink and go to one of the queer bar or event with someone that shares my same interests.. (not so easy to find people that would join instead of a crazy alcoholic erasmus party).
Hope to hear soon from you! I'm aleady in berlin (since last tuesday).
Cheers,
Vanessa

Awesome Berlin. Beautiful rain today, even more beautiful the following un-clouding.
I'm planning on going to a free walking tour this wednesday, if I manage. There's also a party that I'd like to go to next weekend (kind of queer-alternative, for sure), and the homeless-veggie dinner event taking place next saturday evening (more info: http://www.rbb-online.de/himmelunderde/archiv/himmel_und_erde_vom2/dinner_fuer_viele.html).
Also, I feel like exploring Schöneberg and/or trying to find a "gut und günstig" second hand bookstore.
If anyone is up for anything, sag einfach so!

I think/hope that with Berlin, it won't be as much club-themed events. I know Erasmus has a tendency to organize events at clubs etc (I just spent 9 months in Prague where that was completely the case) but I know Berlin should have a lot more to offer on these funky underground hidden cafes/bars :)
these places look interesting and im probably going to check them out as soon as I land!
