Batumi Boulevard

After dining at Retro

Well, as we had this lunch or dinner at Retro, we really enjoyed it, I can say that, and then we decided to hang out in Batumi Boulevard. You know, there was this amazing ice cream that I tasted the other time near Batumi Pier and I hoped, that I could eat it again this time, however, I wasn’t really sure if I could eat it then, because I had that huge Acharuli Khachapuri eaten, you know. Well, we went to the Boulevard and then I would decide whether I wanted to have some ice cream or not.

We went to that place, where there’s this mini zoo and there are some peacocks and swans and stuff like that and those swans were really cute, if you ask me. Then I saw this Lavazza and I just decided that I was kind of sleepy and could use some cold coffee, so that I went to that place and asked for cold coffee. There was some picture of something called Mokoshake or something like that and I asked whether it had coffee in it, too, or something like that, however, she told me that it didn’t have any coffee, and, besides, that they didn’t have it at that time. So, I could take some banana or strawberry shakes, if I wanted. However, I didn’t want any shakes, I just wanted cold coffee, so that I told her to prepare some cold latte for me with one teaspoon of sugar. It was all 5.50 Laris, and, well, it was kind of expensive, if you ask me, however, what could I do?! Though it was in such a cup, that would be enough for me. But, you know, Dunkin’ Donuts have a great cold coffee,if you want to know the truth. And those flavours are just great and I love them and it’s been some time since I last drank that cold coffee of Dunkin’ Donuts and I’m definitely going to drink it some time soon. Well, to be honest, it was something like May or June when I last drank Dunkin’ Donuts’ iced coffee, however, they didn’t have much flavours there at that time, so that it was not really what I like in their coffee, you know. And I was not able to drink that kind of coffee that I wanted. It was just a regular coffee, if I remember it correctly.

Towards Batumi Pier

Anyways, I took my cold latte and went towards the Batumi Boulevard, where the others were. They were walking towards the Batumi Pier.That place is just really wonderful, if you ask me. However, there are some shopping places until you get to the Batumi Pier, and, of course, my mother went in there and we knew, that we would have to wait for her for a long time. Well, of course, she had to look at every little thing there and then when she liked something, she wouldn’t decide what she wanted and whether that thing was good enough to buy and stuff like that, you know. And my brother wanted something to buy there and it was all pretty tiring, if you want to know the truth. However, some time later, we moved on towards Batumi Pier.

There were some souvenirs’ shopsand other stuff, that looked really good, so that you would want to go in there and buy many things, however, we didn’t need any Georgian souvenirs, of course, and well, we walked and walked.

There was this Turkish guy there and he was preparing some ice cream, and I’ve seen somewhere a guy just like him doing some tricks with those clients and he was doing that, too. The people went to him to order some ice cream and then, suddenly, he would do those tricks and those people were pretty surprised, if you want to know the truth, and he continued surprising them again and again. And just in front of him you could see some Georgian people sitting and having those drums and stuff like that and would play some Georgian musicand they were just enjoying the day and everything around them. It was really a good place to be , if you want to know the truth. There were many people walking around and some of them were with bikes and some of them with roller-blades and stuff like that, and some were taking photos and enjoying each other’s company, you know. And, well, it was just some late afternoon, and after some time people would just come and come and gather around and there would be plenty of them around soon, of course.

Well, we got to Batumi Pier while my mother and brother were looking for some things to buy there. It was just exciting to look from that thing to the beach and see all those people down and in the water and in those cafes and stuff like that. It was really awesome. I couldn’t resist not taking any pictures, of course. There was this café at the end of the Pier and, if you ask me, there shouldn’t have been that café, because it would be better, if there was nothing and people could just go on that Pier freely and look from it wherever they wanted. However, that café was pretty beautifulinside and the chairs and tables were awesome, too, and you would just want to go and sit there and have something to drink and look at the horizon and enjoy the day or whatever. That would be just great, you know. The landscapes from there were really beautiful and one wouldn’t want to move from that place anytime soon.

There were some ice cream places around, however, the one that I was looking for was closed, I guess, because there was no one there and I didn’t go closer to it because of that. And the other places were not really for me, because they didn’t have that type of ice cream that I wanted. However, my father asked whether we could have had some ice cream or not, and I told him no, because there was not great ice cream there, and , besides, I knew that he would want to eat some plain vanilla ice cream and it was not a good idea, if you ask me. So that, we didn’t eat any ice cream and went down to those fountains that were on and we could sit somewhere nearby and watch them. Well, there were some artists there, too, and they had their works exhibited and some of them offered people to draw them, too. I remember, that when I was little, we were on that place and some woman painted me while I was sitting in front of her. We still have that drawing at home and it’s pretty good, if you ask me. I don’t know, how much it cost, but I kind of remember, that, maybe it cost something like 25 Laris or so. Well, I don’t know that for sure. However, that is a colour drawing and it really resembles me in some ways, so that it was a good idea to have a drawing of me, I guess.

Well, there were people around, walking and taking a look at those paintings, which those artists had exhibited, and I decided to take a look at them, too. They were just medium sized and they were really beautiful, if you want to know the truth, because the landscapes were really well painted. Well, there were other paintings, too, however, I just love those paintings of landscapes and I looked at them for a while. The artist said, that some of them cost 60 Laris and some of them were 100 Laris and stuff like that.
