Arrival: the first challenge

Hello everyone and welcome on my blog of my erasmus in Barcelona!

Erasmus is not only sunshine it is adapting, survival and discovering yourself.

The first setback

This became clear when I finally landed the plane in the beloved city. I had news that my accomodation was overbooked, this was my first big challenge when I arrived. I went to their office and they couldn't help me. I was on the street! I booked an airbnb for the first nights and I would advice everyone to do the same. Book an airbnb for the first 4-5 days and search an accomodation when you are here. It's so much easier and the chances of getting scammed are smaller. In the end everything was alright and I got my money back. But this was not the case for everyone so don't try your luck out here!

The first weeks

The first weeks of erasmus are all about getting used to the new environment that you got dropped into! It is about meeting a lot of new international people. It is really interesting to meet people from all over the world because even something as the most simple things as just greeting eachother is different in a lot of countries!
