Why did you choose to go to Badajoz, Spain?
I choose Badajoz because my university have just one relation with the university of Extremadura, and I wanted to study in Spain, like this I start to study Badajoz.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I am in Badajoz for one semester. I receive 2000 euro for my living in Spain.
What is the student lifestyle like in Badajoz?
The student lifestyle is active. We organise different meeting for play games or eat some food, in weekend we travel, go for a picnic or just go to some places to taste some traditional food and drink, we are enjoying our Erasmus, also in the night we go to the disco. I like very much Spanish music.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Badajoz to other students?
Yes, I recommend the city and the University of Badajoz to other students because now, Badajoz is my second home. People are nice, they can help you with your problems, at Faculty teachers are understanding that you are foreign student and can give you some advice. Badajoz is very beautiful with a big history and culture, every day you can discovered new places or story about Badajoz. The weather is very nice, it's not so cold like in other countries, here is not snow. You can adapt your budy easy to the temperature of the city.
What is the food like?
The gastronomy of Extremadura is varios. They eat rice, fish, jamon, different food prepare from pig's meat, they drink tinto de verano, sangria or beer.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Badajoz?
It's was a little bit difficult, because I didn't have no one to explain about the accommodation in Badajoz and I was afraid to not be lied, but i tried and I was lucky. I found a nice flat with lovely roommates in the centre of Badajoz.
How much does it cost to live in Badajoz?
Every month for accommodation I paid around 250 euro.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is not hard, but everything depends of you. For someone is really hard to learn and speak. The bad part of this region of Spain is that people speak fast and with dialect, it's hard to understand them. In the university you have Spanish courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Badajoz from your city?
I choose the airplane, because it's faster and if you buy some weeks before it's cheaper.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Badajoz?
In Badajoz you a have different places to spend your night. It's depends which person are you: party person or you just like chill night somewhere. In Badajos you can find bar, cafeteria or some restaurants with good food&drinks and relaxing music, or you can go to disco, where the Spanish music is guaranteed.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Badajoz in the future?
You can travel to other cities of Spain. The region of Extremadura is rich in very beautiful cities. Enjoy your Erasmus and make many trips.
