Holiday Destination: Athens

Firstly, welcome to my blog. I would love to tell you guys about my experiences and tips for Athens. I was in Athens, the capital city of Greece, twice. Greece is in the south of Europe and is known for its history, islands, classes and cuisine. Athen is the biggest city in Greece with a population of 3.8 million citizens.

Accommodation in Athens is not expensive. I live quite centrally, in the Pattision district. The best thing about this is that it takes 7-10 mins to reach the centre on the underground. Close to Pattision is the Victoria underground station. There are three tramlines here. Victoria is only one stop away from Thisio. Thisio is close to the Acropolis underground station. The Acropolis, the antique upper town, is my favourite place. The price of the tickets is 10-20 euro - it depends on the season. If you're an EU member, a student, and under 26, it's free. I paid 10 euro in February, because Georgia isn't in the EU. I didn't get a discount. The famous Acropolis is a UNESCO heritage site.
