What is it like to live in Angers? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is like living in a big city, but without the traffic jams, and the uncomfy crowds. It has all the places a capitol has, big squares, huge stores, beautiful parks, and a possibilites to do lots of outgoing activities thanks to the surrounding villages, towns.

What is the student lifestyle like in Angers?

The uni I went to(UCO) would be considered as not the easiest one. You do have to study to pass the subject, but apart that it has great student programs organized for foreigners. Even the regular student parties are wicked. With lots of friendly people.

How much does it cost to live in Angers?

The prices are a bit higher than in other European countries I would say, but cheaper than Paris. Drinks at bars are a bit expensive but most of the places have special prices for Erasmus students. Beer is around 2 EUR.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Angers? Is there any advice you can give?

Rooms in dormitories are filled in quickly. However flats can be found easily but for a higher price. BUT: there is CAF(Caisse d'allocations familiale). It is a small help for (not only for French) students. Depending on the price you pay for your flat, the governement helps you out by reimbursing part of your renting costs.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Lots of crepes (pancakes with thinner crust). Salty or sweet.. I prefer sweet. But my favourite is tarte. It is like a pie filled with sausages and vegetables. Served hot on plate. This also has a sweet edition usually filled with apple but I prefer the salty
