Experience in Amsterdam, the Netherlands by Nerea
How do you find living in Amsterdam? Do you recommend it? How is it?
I find Amsterdam a precious city. It has a special charm. I find there are really good vibes between the people from there and the citizens, as much as the city, give off happiness and good vibrations. I was only there for a week but it was enough to go down its streets, its most popular and well known places and to get to know a bit of the city's history.
It is very curious how they have constructed the buildings, considering that they are inclined forwards because they have a hook at the upper part to introduce furniture through the second or third floor windows. Amsterdam's canals are an essential icon of the city, with its bikes chained to them and the small boats of passengers passing through the canals. The Red Light District seemed like a very curious and different area to me - Something you don't see anywhere.
In general, sure, I would live in a city like Amsterdam as it gave off good vibes to me.
How is the country's food? What are your favourite dishes?
I wasn't lucky enough to try the city's traditional dishes but sure, I remember they eat well.
Which places do you recommend to visit in Amsterdam?
I without a doubt recommend visiting Anne Frank's house, the Red Light District, the canals, the area of the Van Gogh museum and the little surrounding villages such as Edam.
