What is it like to live in Amsterdam? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

For me it was a fantastic experience to stay in an advance laboratory setup of AMC hospital. I will definitely recommend this city for research purpose and the city seems to be situated upon water where hundreds of boats floats every where showing a nice look to the visitors.

What is the student lifestyle like in Amsterdam?

student lifestyle is luxurious in the sense that they enjoy a brilliant edcational facility, easy access to the points and a healthy life style.

How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?

Yah, the cost of living is much more than one expect before comming, amsterdam has the best transport facility but is one of the expensive cities. Food, clothing, everything exist easily but are much expensive than other european countries.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Amsterdam? Is there any advice you can give?

Thats the main issue of Amsterdam, If somebody want to have a one bedroom apartment, the lowest price would be more than 1200€. Now, if you go through agencies, they will charge you a high property cost plus they do not have cheap accomudations.
Amsterdam is also a center of scamers, they put lowest prices on internet and take money from people and disapears. So be vigilant of such adds upon internt, they are all just fraud if the house rate is less the 1000€.
Whats the best way is, to find a friend or a friend of friend who gave you surety of reserving a room before you arrive. Don't come before you manage the room, otherwise the hotel charges and their inside environment will keep you mentaly disturbed all the time.
second suggestion, never live with landlord because here the landlords have eyes on their forehead, will disturb you too much recording the use of water, gas and electricity.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I eat spicy foods but here all kind of foods are availaible, chines, maxican, turkish, halaal, italian, piza, every food exists very easily that one can order to home day and night.

What places would you recommend visiting in Amsterdam?

There are dozens of parks, museums, cinemas and canals full of boats and all these are available on walking distances from each others.

Is it good to eat out in Amsterdam? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, amsterdam is a food city, one can find any kind of food. Haha the best spot in amsterdam is the Redlight district which is the busy center all the time. Dam square, central stattion and food streat are famouse spots to visit

Is the nightlife good in Amsterdam? Where is good to go?

Ahhh, Amsterdam never sleeps. Hundreds of cofee shops, pubs, clubs are alive whole night and people never tired to spend whole night on roads.

What advice would you give future students heading to Amsterdam?

First priority for all the students should to find an accomudation before arriving otherwise its very difficult to find a good place on reasonable price.

second, Amsterdam is the heart of fun, so don't come here to waste yours only in enjoyment because amsterdam is a center of brilliant educational facilities as well, so take benefit of your stay.

On your first day, buy a bicycle which are available on a price starting from 20€, so you will be saved from expensive transportation. Also keep a smart phone with google map, you will easily reach every corner of the city. Amsterdam has the best of best cycle/bike riding roads where a rider feels no tention from moter cars, but be careful feom bike riders, as they don't care for other riders. I am a victim of dozens of small accedents on bike.

Take double jacket with you, keep umbrella or rain coat all the time because Amsterdam has one the unexpected and chilled whether, no body know what will happen after one hour even if it full sun shine.
