What is it like to live in Amsterdam? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Amsterdam is great. I have been living in Amsterdam my whole live and is a great history, with great city and architecture. The prices for rent are quite expensive, but the prices for food are reasonable.

What is the student lifestyle like in Amsterdam?

The student life is pretty great. I think it is partially the reason why students come to Amsterdam. You can go out and there is plenty to do. The city lives 24 hours.

How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?

What I heard is that student rooms are about 400/500/550 euro's. Apart from that, people who drink, would have more costs.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Amsterdam? Is there any advice you can give?

It is quite difficult for students to find accomodation in Amsterdam. The city is also working on this problem, for instance they built a whole new student dorm, called the Student Hotel in Amsterdam-West. It has good connections to the centre and supermarkets etc.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I am personally Moroccan and I kinda stick to Moroccan food. I don't eat out a lot, but there is more than enough choice. You have typically Dutch restaurants, but a lot of foreign restaurants.

What places would you recommend visiting in Amsterdam?

Kind of depends on the person himself. If you're a history person, you can visit the Damsquare, museums and Anne Frankhome. If you are a cultural person, there are a lot of places you can go and if you like the buildings, you can visit the historical centre and the canals.

Is it good to eat out in Amsterdam? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Unfortunately I don't eat out a lot in the centre.

Is the nightlife good in Amsterdam? Where is good to go?

There are a lot of places to go to. Looking at a map in the centre. I don't go out much, so I don't know myself.

What advice would you give future students headed to Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is a nice city to have a good time. I know for sure you will enjoy it.
