What is it like to live in Amsterdam? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Amsterdam is nice to life, when you are lost almost all people will help and try to assist you.,besides of that everybody speaks English!

What is the student lifestyle like in Amsterdam?

Studentlife in Amsterdam is a little bit hidden, Utrecht is for example much more an student city almost half of the people you will met on streets are students there!In Amsterdam its full of expats, locals and ofcourse ryan air drug tourist. I also dont know really student cafe"s or that stuff . Amsterdam ethnic people are arrogant to foreign students at the University you wont get really contact with them or they must have a crush on you:p in Bars Amsterdam people want to talk a lot to verybody !

How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?

For a month you really need really 1000 euro for living/food and rent!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Amsterdam? Is there any advice you can give?

Its terrible to get an appartement,and its full of scammers on the internet. Also a lot of landlords are organised criminals. The best way is ask people around.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is very healthy but not really spicy its very basicall! The Dutch people never used the spicy things from there colonies in their food ! The best thing you can do is embrace for example some Dutch/indonesian/or suriname student they have a good kitchen and really like to coock! 

My Favourite dishes "farmer cabbages with sausage" !

*Try raw haring with sour unions, sounds disquisting but its delicious !

What places would you recommend visiting in Amsterdam?

Redlight, Anne Frank house, Van gogh Museum, Rembrandt museum, Just some outskirts and a trip to Volendam. Besides of that visit also other cities.

Is it good to eat out in Amsterdam? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes but the center is bad like most of euopean capitals its just bussenis overthere, they dont want to feed people good but they want you money and neverr see you again :)

Is the nightlife good in Amsterdam? Where is good to go?

Yes ,but expensive ,Leidsesquare is more with bars and pubs, Rembrandt plein is more big clubs and that stuff. And there are always lots of house/club/techno parties on different locations! You can use ww.partyflock.nl to locate this parties!

What advice would you give future students headed to Amsterdam?

Prepare you good before you come to Amsterdam because some people are so naieve. They think its like Spain for example where you can find on every corner a house, besides of that try to learn the language. It's always a step in life knowing another language! Owja first day you enter adam buy a bike from a junky erasmus price is 15 euro for a Dutchy it will be 5 or something !
