Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Amsterdam?

With the agency that UvA has organized we get a very fair price for a great accommodation, but to find it by yourself will be one-of-a-kind experience because scammers are everywhere!

How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?

Apart from the accommodation and shopping, you can spend 400 for all your expenses (food, grocery, etc).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Well... Everyone is an english-speaker here, but it'd be nice to learn dutch in order to truly live in Netherland. I also take the dutch course from UvA and it is amazing! I feel like i get to know the place where I live in now more than I did.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Amsterdam from your city?

From I live (Diemen), the answer will be by bike.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Amsterdam?

Melkweg (they really have great music) and Q-Factory for salsa party!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Amsterdam?

Sugar n Ice for pannekoek, waffles, and all the 'sugar n ice' kind of food. Highly recommended!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Grand palace, Troppenmuseum (they always have these cool exhibitions) and so much more!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Amsterdam in the future?

Spend ur money wisely, as Amsterdam doesn't only offer you bars, coffee shop, shopping centres, but also many cultural sites.

Get to know more about Netherland, take tours or travel to another city in Netherland, and deal with the weather and don't make it stop you from doing your daily activities! (Rain happens almost everyday).
