Why did you choose to go to Amsterdam, Netherlands?

I have visited the city for a weekend with some friends and fell inlove with it and thought it would be nice to try living there for a while.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am not receiving any scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Amsterdam?

There is a lot to do, a lot of places to go for food or drinks and a lot of events to socialise.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Amsterdam to other students?

Yes

What is the food like?

Very diverse as the Dutch do not have a really special cuisine so you can find food from everywhere around the world.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Amsterdam?

Yes

How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?

It depends where you want to live but prices in the city centre are extremely expensive.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are language courses organised by ESN and they are free. However, I decided to attend the one that is paid and brings you credits. It is 325 euros for one level.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Amsterdam from your city?

By plane. I come from Eastern Europe so coming by bus or train was not really an option for me.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Amsterdam?

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Amsterdam in the future?

Do not just come here to have fun and good nightlife but also explore the city because it really has a lot to offer.
