Why did you choose to go to Amsterdam in the Netherlands?

Since I come from a small country, I always wanted to study in a big city where a lot is going on like in Amsterdam. You have many restaurants, bars, clubs, festivals, parks, beaches!

What is the food like?

They don't have a food culture but they have typical Dutch dishes like "bitterballen" (Dutch meat-based snack, typically containing a mixture of beef or veal (minced or chopped), beef broth, butter, flour for thickening, parsley, salt and pepper, resulting in a thick roux) which are delicious!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Amsterdam?

A lot and time as well. Many web pages ask you money to respond to postings which I find bad since most of the people are students in need for housing.

Over 500€/ month for a room.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It depends what is your mother language like. Yes, there are language courses.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Amsterdam in the future?

Food and alcohol is quite expensive, therefore, I would advise going to cheap supermarkets like Dirk for buying food items.
