Why did you choose to go to Amsterdam, Netherlands?
I was interested in a particular program of study at the UvA. Moreover, I would like to stay in a city.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship is two years. I don't receive nothing.
What is the student lifestyle like in Amsterdam?
Students are very busy. Spend their time studying or talking care of home stuff. Moreiver, generally their house is quite distant from the center so during the evening, generally, they take a beer near the university. In the student house sometimes there are parties.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Amsterdam to other students?
Yes. I don't particularly like it, because is not so comfortable if you live outside the center. Anyway, Amsterdam life is relaxed and particular, you can enjoy it.
What is the food like?
I don't like it very much, also because there more international food than Dutch. The sweet generally are good.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Amsterdam?
Find accommodation in Amsterdam is very difficult and expensive. I took three months for a definite situation.
How much does it cost to live in Amsterdam?
I paid 630 for rent and house services and about 400 for living.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, there are but for my Dutch is very difficult. Moreover, everyone knows English, so it's not necessary.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Amsterdam from your city?
The bike
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Amsterdam?
In the center, even if is quite commercial. Anyway there are some particularly nice events hidden places.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Amsterdam?
